The Research Option (RO) provides students a substantial, in-depth research experience, culminating in a field-appropriate thesis. Students participating in the RO often publish in journals or present at an academic  conference or profession meeting in their field. Completion of the program is designated on your transcript. The Research Option is open to all undergraduate students, but it is especially beneficial for future graduate school students and professional-track students who are planning a career in research and development after graduation.

Students who are interested in pursuing the RO and wish to receive information to help plan their RO experience should complete this Research Option Interest Form. Those at the stage in their research where they are ready to take LMC 4701 should apply using the form on the Requirements page. NOTE: Based on current demand, UROP recommends students take the course within 3 semesters of graduation.
