Presenting your research provides you with an important opportunity to share your findings and results with other students and faculty and gain valuable feedback on your work. Larger conferences and presentation opportunities will also give you a chance to practice your public speaking skills and professionalism. These venues are a great place to network with peers and other professionals in your field. Listed below are select local and national presentation opportunities for undergraduate researchers.

Undergraduate Research Spring Symposium

By participating in the Annual Undergraduate Research Spring Symposium, Georgia Tech's largest undergraduate research colloquium, you will share your research work with other students and faculty from all over campus, learn about research in an informal atmosphere, gain valuable skills and experience in presenting your work, and make an impact on other undergraduates who may be wondering what research is all about.

Off-Campus Opportunities
  • ACC Meeting of the Minds Undergraduate Research Conference: Each year, usually in late March or early April, 5-10 outstanding undergraduate researchers (accompanied by a faculty or staff member) from each ACC university gather at a host university to present their research, either verbally or as a poster.
  • Sigma Xi Student Research Conference: Outstanding high school, undergraduate, and graduate students are invited to join research scientists from North America and abroad for a celebration of research accomplishments hosted by Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society, the global honor society for science and engineering research.
  • Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minoritized Scientists: ABRCMS is one of the largest professional conferences for underrepresented minority students, military veterans, and persons with disabilities to pursue advanced training in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. During the four-day conference, over 1,700 students participate in poster and oral presentations in twelve disciplines in the biomedical and behavioral sciences.
  • National Conferences on Undergraduate Research: The National Conferences on Undergraduate Research, established in 1987, is dedicated to promoting undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative activity in all fields of study by sponsoring an annual conference for students. Unlike meetings of academic professional organizations, this gathering of young scholars welcomes presenters from all institutions of higher learning and from all corners of the academic curriculum.
  • American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Southeastern Section Annual Conference: ASEE seeks to promote excellence in engineering education across the full spectrum of engineering fields. Authors are invited to submit full-length manuscripts for presentation at the conference and inclusion in its proceedings.
  • SACNAS National Diversity in STEM Conference: The SACNAS National Conference motivates, inspires and engages participants to achieve their highest goals in pursuing education and careers in STEM fields. Conference programming is specifically tailored to support undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and career professionals at each transition stage of their career as they move towards positions of science leadership.
  • Gulf Coast Undergraduate Research Symposium:  GCURS is a forum for students in engineering and science fields to present their original research to a team of faculty and graduate student mentors. Students have the opportunity to connect and learn from hundreds of other peers at colleges and universities worldwide! Limited travel awards are available.  Sessions are available in the following fields:  Bioengineering, BioSciences, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Chemistry, Earth, Environmental and Planetary Sciences, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics and Astronomy, and Systems, Synthetic and Physical Biology.  
  • Georgia Undergraduate Research Conference: The Georgia Undergraduate Research Conference will be hosted at Oxford College of Emory University on November 8-9, 2024. GURC supports student research, scholarship, and creativity from all fields, and students can submit oral presentations, poster presentations, performances, and visual presentations, such as artwork.
